FlyHigh Media, LLC is an Independent publishing company located in Akron, Ohio that focuses on stories that touch the heart, mind and soul.
The name of the company has a touching story of its own. Named in honor of our sixteen-year-old, nephew Steven Ray Rushing, whose life was cut short while riding his ATV.
Two months prior, Steven reached his dream of achieving the Eagle Scout Merit award, the highest rank attainable by Boy Scouts of America (BSA). A huge accomplishment and just the start of the person he was becoming.
After his death his friends and family started posting the phrase “FlyHigh Steven” on social media, wrote it on truck windows, t-shirts, in the sand and just about anywhere they could. For us, the phrase symbolized achievement and making one’s dreams come true, just like Steven was doing, and what we want for the authors and illustrators that we will one day represent.
